Transcriptions Progress
The Society endeavours to promote and encourage research into
family history by providing facilities for such research and to coordinate the
work our members are carrying out and to make the results available to all in
our Truro Library and online.
Our Research Library is manned by volunteers, who give freely of their time and
are very willing to help members, beginners and old hands alike, in their research.
Unfortunately, at the moment we are not able to take enquiries from non-members.
Please note - much information in the following pages is in Adobe Acrobat

Cornubian
Lists of Cornish travellers appeared in The Cornubian newspaper. The 1911 - 1916
period has been transcribed & published resulting in a list in surname order
of over 2000 names of Cornish people who travelled to or from America &
stayed on route at Sid Blake's hotel in New York. Surname, forename, date of
travel, where travelling from and to are given.
The
Cornish
Studies Library in Redruth have microfilm of the newspapers.
Our Quarterly Journal
One of the most popular services our society provides for members is the free
publication of members' 'Helping Hands' requests. These can be sent directly to
the
Editor and will appear in our quarterly
Journal, which is published in March, June, September and December. Such entries
are limited to 150 words. The Journal contains
articles of general and specific interest on many aspects of family history.
Articles of general interest from members are always very welcome. Please
ask the Editor about graphic files.
The CFHS Journal Index is currently searchable on our database for
the first 30 journals. Surnames, occupations, ships names, article titles and
place names are searchable for members.
