"Jack," as he was familiarly known in St Austell, is only 20 years and 6 months old. He enlisted in May 1939, and was posted to the Fleet Air Arm. Previous to this he was a member of the St. Austell Detachment of the Territorial Army. He was a member of the office staff at Messrs. Hill and Phillips. His father, Mr. P. H. Hancock, has been a chauffer for Maj. M. F.
