It is bordered by St Columb Minor to the north and west, St Columb Major to the east and St Enoder and Newlyn East to the south. The parish, which is located towards the North Cornwall coast, is named after its patron Saint Colanus. The main hamlets are Besoughan, Melancoose, and Mountjoy.
A tribute to those brave people of Cornwall who served or laid down their lives in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
