RemarksElder son. Died at a military camp near Norwich, Norfolk in early 1919. While in Canada in 1914, he volunteered for the Old Contemptibles. Crossing over to France, he was in the first battle of the Marne, fought in the Mons retreat and at Armentieres in 1914. Seriously wounded by a shell at Armentieres, he spent six months in hospital and was then invalided out. Recalled to the colours in March 1918 as an instructor.
