THE TRENGOVE DATABASE

For many years some members of the Trengove family have worked to create a database of their own family and ancestors, and of others bearing the surname ‘Trengove’. CFHS are thankful to Graham and Mark Trengove for allowing us to share their work.

Historical research and DNA tests imply that all bearing the name Trengove (‘Farmstead of the Blacksmith’) who are alive today can trace their ancestry back to one family living in Perranarworthal Parish in the 16th Century. All other Trengove lines elsewhere in Cornwall appear to have gone extinct.
