Crantock is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Pydar. It is bordered by the ocean and St Columb Minor to the north and west, Newlyn East to the east and Cubert to the south. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Langoroch. Besides the churchtown, the hamlets are Trevemper and Trevelveth.
