Cury is situated in the Meneage District on the Lizard peninsular and is in the Deanery and Hundred of Kerrier. It is bordered by Mawgan-in-Meneage to the north and west, Ruan Minor to the east and Mullion and Gunwalloe to the south. The parish was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Chori. The main hamlets of the parish, besides the churchtown, are Cross Lanes, White Cross and Nantithet.
