Lanivet is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Pydar. It is bordered by Bodmin to the north, Bodmin and Lanhydrock to the east, Lanlivery and Luxulyan to the south and Roche and Withiel to the west. This parish is in the geographical centre of Cornwall. It was on the old ‘Saints Way’ along which the early Christian Saints travelled from Ireland via Padstow. The villages are the churchtown, Lamorick, Gold Bank (or Nanstallon), Bokiddick, Tregullon and part of St Lawrence.
