Lanlivery is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Powder. It is bordered by Lanivet and Lanhydrock to the north, the River Fowey (which separates it from St Winnow) to the east, Golant (St Sampson), Tywardreath and Luxulyan to the south and Luxulyan to the west. It is situated almost in the centre of Cornwall. Villages in the parish are the churchtown, Redmoor, Sweets House, Milltown and Tangier with the latter now being a suburb of Lostwithiel town.
