Launcells is situated in the Deanery of Trigg Major and Hundred of Stratton. It is bordered by Kilkhampton to the north, Pancrasweek in Devon (from which it is partially separated by the River Tamar) to the east, Bridgerule West and Marhamchurch to the south and Stratton and Poughill to the west. Launcells is located just inland from Bude and Stratton and contains a few scattered hamlets. Launcells Manor was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and so indicates a Norman church was here at that time. Launcells is 3 miles east of Bude. There is no Launcells village (the church is located at Launcells Barton) and the main hamlets are Grimscott and Buttsbeer.
A tribute to those brave people of Cornwall who served or laid down their lives in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
