Lewannick is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of East. It is bordered by Trewen and South Petherwin to the north, Lezant to the east, North Hill to the south and Altarnun to the west. The parish is 5 miles south-west of Launceston. The main hamlet of Trelaske is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Trelosch. The main villages and hamlets, besides the churchtown, are Polyphant, Trevadlock and Tinney Hall.
