Mawgan in Pydar is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Pydar. It is bordered by St Ervan and St Eval to the north, St Columb Major to the east, St Columb Minor to the south and the ocean to the west. The parish is located on the north coast of Cornwall to the north-east of Newquay. The main village is the churchtown. During World War II, the RAF built an airfield here. The runways of the base are now used by civilian air traffic as Newquay Airport.
A tribute to those brave people of Cornwall who served or laid down their lives in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
