Minster is situated in the Deanery of Trigg Minor and Hundred of Lesnewth. It is bordered by St Juliot to the north, St Juliot, Lesnewth and Davidstow to the east, Lanteglos-by-Camelford to the south and Tintagel, Trevalga, Forrabury and the detached part of Lanteglos to the west. The town of Boscastle in North Cornwall was divided into two parishes, Forrabury and Minster, by the River Jordan however these parishes became united by Act of Parliament in 1779.
