Tintagel is situated in the Deanery of Trigg Minor and Hundred of Lesnewth. It is bordered by the ocean and Trevalga to the north, Trevalga and Minster to the east, St Teath and the detached part of Lanteglos to the south and the ocean to the west. The parish is on the north coast of Cornwall between Port Isaac and Boscastle. The village has the Old Post Office which was built in the 14th century. Besides the churchtown, other hamlets in the parish are Trenaile, Trewithin and Trewarmet.
