Veryan is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Powder. It is bordered by Cornelly and Cuby-with-Tregony to the north, Cuby and St Michael Caerhays to the east, the ocean to the south and Philleigh and Ruan Lanihorne to the west. Veryan was originally mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as the manor of Elerkey. The parish of Veryan stretches from the south coast of Cornwall nearly to Tregony and contains the churchtown, Veryan Green, Portloe, Carne, Treviskey and Treartha.
A tribute to those brave people of Cornwall who served or laid down their lives in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
