Whitstone is situated in the Deanery of Trigg Major and Hundred of Stratton. It is bordered by Marhamchurch and Bridgerule West to the north, the River Tamar (which separates it from the Devon parishes of Bridgerule East, Pyworthy and the detached part of Bridgerule) to the east, North Tamerton and Week St Mary to the south and Week St Mary to the west. The parish is located on the Devon border near the River Tamar valley. The village of Whitstone is surrounded by small hamlets such as Boot, Foxton and East and West Balsdon.
