Withiel is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Pydar. It is bordered by St Breock to the north, Bodmin, Lanivet and Roche to the east and Roche and St Wenn to the south and west. The parish is in the centre of Cornwall to the north of St Austell. The hamlet of Withielgoose is about half a mile to the east of the village of Withiel. The main village is the churchtown.
